2024 Florida Missing Children's Day
The Florida Missing Children's Day Foundation and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory Board invite you to attend the Florida Missing Children's Day (FMCD) ceremony on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum, 6800 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
FMCD features a formal ceremony where citizens, law enforcement officers, and K9 trailing teams are recognized for their exemplary efforts when investigating missing persons, rescuing missing children, or preventing abductions. The ceremony also includes a time of remembrance portion recognizing impacted families and their missing loved one.
Event details: FMCD has traditionally been held at the Tallahassee Capitol Courtyard. Due to Capitol renovations, this year FMCD is being held at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum. All award winners and missing family activities will take place at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum to include rehearsal, the Florida Associations of School Resource Officers' (FASRO) reception, the Sponsor breakfast, and the formal ceremony. Guests will be able to park at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum. Please RSVP by clicking here, by calling 1-888-356-4774, or by emailing FMCD@fdle.state.fl.us. RSVPS must be received no later than Friday, August 16th.

A hotel block has been arranged at Staybridge Suites, 1600 Summit Lake Drive, Tallahassee, Florida 32317, for Sunday, September 8th. Please call the hotel directly at 850-219-7000 and reference Florida Missing Children's Day or the FMC room block to receive a room rate of $111.00 a night before taxes. There are limited rooms available for the Saturday night preceding FMCD, and the Monday night following the ceremony. If you require rooms for these dates in addition to Sunday, September 8th, please reserve your room early. THE HOTEL BLOCK has very limited double queen suites available. All rooms must be reserved by August 16th in order to obtain the room rate. Rooms booked after this date may be subject to different room rates. All guests, unless otherwise stated, are responsible for their own expenses. The hotel is conveniently located by I-10 and less than one mile from the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.
Early Check-In: Please note that the hotel is unable to guarantee early check in. Regular check-in is 3:00 PM and after. Guests that are required to attend the Florida Missing Children's Day rehearsal on Sunday, September 8th may not be able to check-in and drop off their luggage beforehand. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The hotel is dependent upon the departure time of the guests from the night before. Check out time is noon. Guests are welcome to request an early check in when they make their reservations, but there is no guarantee guests will be able to check in early if the hotel is full or the specific room type is not available at the time of arrival.
FMCD is hosting a safety fair for the public and elementary school students. The safety fair will be held at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum's courtyard from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9th after the FMCD formal ceremony. The event is outside and inclement weather may affect the safety fair.
FDLE is organizing the event and inviting multiple government agencies and businesses to attend. If your agency or business is interested in attending the event as a vendor or you are a school interested in attending please email your contact information to FMCD@fdle.state.fl.us.
Schools must RSVP by Friday August 16th.
Schools that RSVP will receive notification if the event is cancelled for any reason.
