On behalf of the Board of Directors of Florida Missing Children’s Day Foundation, Inc.(FMCDF) and in conjunction with The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s, Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory Board (MEPIC), we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting with us. Each year on the second Monday in September, this year, September 13th, 2010, the great State of Florida takes the opportunity to Remember, Recognize and Shine a light on those who cannot do so for themselves, the over 4,000 Missing and Abducted Floridians who have not made their way home today. It is a day in which Florida brings to light through Ceremony, the segment of our population needing the most help from each and every one of us. Awareness, support and education of our Missing are the most important actions we can take in the effort to bring all of our loved ones Home. Our children are our most precious resource. They are our future and we are obligated as a society to insure, to the best of our ability, their personal safety. We feel it is a responsibility all Floridians must share and take ownership in.

Florida Missing Children’s Day is also a day in which we salute and recognize those in Law Enforcement and our Citizenry, who, in the past year made a difference in the fight for our Missing . Those who took the extra step, who took action without regard for themselves so a child may be saved and/or a criminal brought to Justice. We are humbled by both their actions and courage. It is because of these brave people that a child is safe and with their family today or they have provided the answers that so many families of the Missing search for and cannot find alone.

Florida Missing Children’s Day is not a State funded program however and is expensive to conduct. We are grateful for the use of the Capitol’s courtyard and meeting rooms which are made available to us without charge and for the presence of The Governor for the Ceremony. The rest of the days’ events and needs are met through the generosity of ordinary people, corporations and Law Enforcement agencies donating Monetarily, In-Kind gifts and Pro bono work. Without your generosity, this most important day and event would not take place. It is in this light that we ask for your support today, so we may continue the Awareness our Missing Children so desperately need and deserve. We have made available on the homepage, Links to donation forms making donating easy for any person or organization as well as Paypal should you wish to donate electronically. The FMCD Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) , non-profit corporation and your donations are fully tax deductible. There is no amount too small to give and we thank every organization and individual who finds it in their heart to do so. Together we will make a difference.

In closing, thank you for your support and donation. We hope to see you Monday, September 13th, 2010 in the Capitol Courtyard for Florida Missing Children’s Day 2010 Ceremony. A reason to give, a date to save and the place to be.

Thanking you on behalf of Florida Missing Children’s Day Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors.
